So guys I’m so excited and this is because my friend finally published her first book. It’s titled RISING.
RISING is a collection of poems that tells different stories. Stories of love, betrayal, forgiveness, Pain, domestic violence, letting go etc.
RISING reveals this;
In this world, they’re seasons and times, going through pain is normal, everyone goes through pain.
Healing is a choice we have to make so we can rise above.

Hi guys, i know i haven’t been posting my poem for a while now. I’ll try to shuffle it with the videos from now. Till next week.
Here’s to all women out there, you are phenomenal. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!
”All that i am or hope to be, i owe to my mother”- Abraham Lincoln
i chose to use the poem “phenomenal woman by Maya Angelou” because i think it depicts the identity of a woman that is someone who is more than just her beauty or looks in general. No matter how you look, learn to be comfortable in your skin and do not give into the pressure of the society to become someone you are not. I think the poem contains a message for all women to love themselves and be self-confident. Your inner belief is what truly matters and whatever that is, learn to accept it. Be positive, be happy. The society may say you do not meet the beauty standards, but beauty is not skin-deep so no need to get so worked up about it. Remember, you are what you are, a phenomenom.

Here are some quotes that truly denote poetry
“I would define, in brief, the poetry of words as the rhythmical creation of Beauty.”- Edgar Allan Poe
“Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things.”- T. S. Eliot
Hi guys, i’ve decided to try a few videos poems this year. The first video this year is a poem titled forty years by Mary Oliver. This is one of my favourite poems she has written.
